Our Story

The history behind the property at 13021 County Road 24.

The 3 cinder block buildings on our property were built in the mid 1970s by Don Schell, and the facility was originally known as Schell Mini Storage.

In June 1, 2009, Sharalyn Larson sold the facility to Joey and Lyn Woolley, who then constructed Building 4 in January of 2010. Immediately after the purchase, work began to install 8 RV sites. Over the years, more sites were added - 2 in 2011, 5 sites and a laundry building in 2012, and 2 more sites in 2022.

The RV Park on the property was named The Doodlebug RV Park in honor of Joey's mother, Dorothy, who sadly passed away in 2006. "Doodlebug" was a pet name Walter (Joey's father) used for Dorothy. This name has ties to the area's history, especially the railway from Shattuck, Ok. to Pringle, Tx., which was crucial in the past. Maintenance was conducted on the railway and the railroad workers used a service train called the Doodlebug.  When it was sent out on the tracks to inspect and repair problem areas, they had no set schedule.  They would return when necessary work was completed, thus making the Doodlebug’s schedule un-predictable.   Walter recognized Dorothy had the same mannerisms.

The name "The Storage Depot" was chosen to complement the railway term "Doodlebug" and preserve a piece of the property’s unique history.

Continuing the example and legacy from faithful  past owners, the Doodlebug RV and Depot Storage facilities are under the stewardship of Tab’h Adar, LLC.  Tab’h Adar properly translated depicts a belief in the Bountiful Abundance of Things in the Future.  Stewardship is the action that demonstrates value and care of a property.

Simply stated, the Tab’h Adar partners have a belief in an abundant future for Spearman and Hansford County; and, are committed to the priority of properly caring for the property.

Thank you for celebrating an abundant legacy and an exciting future.  Tab’h Adar
